The current card is a 256MB NVIDIA UTLRA 6800 but it is faulty. Can i replace it with any other card and if so what or will it have to be a direct replacement?|||I looked this up. and it says that this is a laptop...
This means that the video card is built in to the motherboard.
If it is a discrete chip, you have to replace in with the same video card.
If I am wrong, and this is indeed a desktop, I would get the same video card in this case too. Many times Dell computers don't have big enough power supplies to utilize any other video card than the one that's in it. Let alone a nicer one.
Good luck.|||You can upgrade the video card to an Nvidia 7800gtx.
But it'll run you around $250-350 for that card.
I've seen complete, used M170's sell on eBay for around $500,
So I'd say it's not worth upgrading unless you can find A 7800gtx
for under $100
