i want to upgrade my vga card..but my motherboard doesn't support pci express...my motherboard 'p4i65g'.what is the best?|||There is no "latest" really, AGP is an abandoned interface at this point.
The best AGP card that's still available is the Radeon HD 4670, but it's rather expensive at $125. It's also currently sold out on Newegg and Amazon.
The Radeon HD 3850 has almost identical performance (slightly better by about 1fps) but it's almost impossible to find these days.
The next-best choice (and the most reasonable one) is the Radeon HD 4650.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…
Note that you'll need a 400 watt power supply for the 4670.
The best approach is to buy a new motherboard with a PCI-Express slot for about $50, along with a $75 PCI-Express card like the Radeon 4670, 5570 or GeForce GT240. That gives you better performance than even the most expensive AGP card.

Will this video card work? Any better suggestions?
Ok, so this is my desktop that I have HP d4100y
http://www.shopping.com/xPF-Hewlett-Pack…
except i got a 2.8ghz pentium d, 3 gigs instead of 1, and geforce 6200.
i've been wanting to upgrade the video card. i was thinking about the 8800 but u guys have any suggestions, comments? Thanks|||8800 are hard to come by now, the new equivelant is the 280 bt you don't need ot spend $350 on that, go with the 9800GTX+ form new egg, they have several for $130
Hope this helps|||Yes
Nvidia Geforce 8800 is PCI Express
Your desktop is PCI Express|||8800GT no one use those anymore and it hard to get.
Get a Ati 4850 or Nvidia 9800 GTX+

NVIDIA GEFORCE 8500GT 512MB PCIe VIDEO CARD for Crysis?
Would the NVIDIA Geforce 8500GT 512MB DDR2 be a good Video Card to use for Crysis?|||No...it'll barely run if at all. Isn't the minimum a 6800? The 8500 is about in the ballpark of a 6600 in terms of performance...so you're looking at terrible FPS even on low settings at a low res. If you want to play crysis, you need no less than a Radeon 3850 or an 8800GT if you want to play it well on higher settings|||yes you will be able to run all options on high, recommended card for the game. sometimes they are bundled together and you get the game free. look for those.|||Yeah! Good work. You need only the best for Crysis. That'll do it. Awesome game.|||no

What is the best (STANDARD PCI) video/graphics card?
I do not have PCI Express slots at all. I have 1 free pci slot. I really want to get a new video card. Do you know what is the best? Direct X10 plz. |||from what I could find your only options for direct x 10 using pci standard is the ATI radeon HD 2400 pro or a Nvidia GeForce 8400.
If you have a AGP slot by chance you would be much better off using that over your PCI slot the ATI HD 3xxx series all support direct x 10.1 and are available in AGP models. |||I only know of a AMD/ATi Radeon HD2400 256mb PCI interface GPU.
But I doubt it can play todays games well.
If your'e still on PCI and want to play games, I suggest upgrading your system. ; )|||buy a new motherboard, nvidia has stopped supporting pci video cards (almost) like geforce fx series (geforce 5)... geforce 6 and up is PCI-E|||there are NO pci cards that support directX 10. theyre simply not fast enough.

Will my computer be able to run a Nvidia Geforce 8400GS video card?
Alright, so I have a newly bought Dell Inspiron 530 running Windows Vista home. I want a EVGA GeForce 8400 GS graphics card, and it needs a minimum 300 watt power supply. Would my computer be able to run it?|||Your computer has a 300 watt power supply and has the PCI-e slot required to install the Geforce.
Acer Aspire video graphics card transferrable to Toshiba Satellite?
The hard drive to my Acer Aspire 5536 broke, so I got a new laptop (Toshiba Satellite L755). barely any of my games are playable on my new laptop. I was wondering if I could exchange the graphics card from the acer, so I could actually play the games I buy.|||No, you cannot, but you could've bought a new laptop harddrive for your acer.|||The video card is soldered to the motherboard of your laptop, so it cannot be moved. The next time you buy a laptop, try to make sure that it has an adequate video card/chip for the games you want to play. If you bought this computer recently, you may still be able to return it and trade it for one with a better card if you you are really unhappy.
Why is my computer sharing DDR2 RAM with my video card?
I run Win7 Pro 64 bit, i have 4 Gigs of DDR2 ram and an intergrated ATI 4200 Radeon HD video card, my computer is dedicated 2 Gigs of my RAM to my video card, which is WAY more than i want 512mb -1 gig max imo, is there anyway to change this that anyone knows of?|||AMD ATI Radeon HD 4200 is an on-board graphics chip. On-board graphics chip is a shared memory type i.e. it shares RAM.
There is no way to reduce the amount of shared RAM. You shouldn't worry about it as it will be used only if you open too many windows. My ATI has 1 Gb memory, dxdiag shows me 4 Gb can be used by my graphics card, but my task masnger shows just 1.79 Gb of my 8 Gb RAM is being used.
Although 2GB of RAM is dedicated to your graphics card it doesn't mean all of your 2 GB RAM is being utilized at once. It really depends on what you are doing.
You can try doing this:
Go to control panel and select system, then click on advanced, then click on performence settings, then change the visual tab to change for best peorformence, then click on advanced then under virtual memory, decrease the value, and your ram will increases but the video card will crave less, therefore speeding up your PC.|||That is the problem with integrated video (on-board). If it is a desktop you can install a video card. On a laptop only a few let you do that and it is pricey. You can, however, change the amount of RAM dedicated in the BIOS. Where in the BIOS is dependent on the BIOS itself as there are different manufacturers and they set things up differently.|||No bcause you have integrated graphics.

I deleted my video card drivers, now my monitor doesn't work?
Ok, like the question states, I was trying to upgrade the video card. I deleted the video card drivers and then took out the video card. Then I realized I had the wrong upgrade card. I put the original card back in, but now the monitor doesn't show anything buy a small blue box telling me to check the signal or something. What's up? Were those drivers so important that now the computer can't hook up to the monitor at all? And how do I fix this without the monitor working?|||Most likely the you havent put back the video card properly. Check the signal means that there is no communication between the cpu and monitor. Try to check your video card and put it back properly. If it doesnt work check your agp slots or video cards and clean it. Video cards and those slots are sensitive to dust. For sure that would solve the problem. About your wrong video driver do a "driver rollback" thats it. gudluck....|||u don't plug ur VGA card rit try to do it again|||The no-signal box is telling you that the monitor isn't talking to the computer at all. Is there another socket on the computer that the monitor plug will fit into? If so, try that; could be your motherboard has an onboard video chipset that it wants to use instead of the other card. Once you're seeing Windows back on the monitor, you will probably also see a New Hardware Found wizard; follow that, and good luck!|||At first you must restart your computer.then press F8 until you see a menu.then choose safe mode then inst5all your VGA driver.|||u should be able to hook up ur montor becuz all computer video card are plug and plays make sure all the wires are connected where there suppose to be connected and take out ur video card and reinsert its sometimes its the connectors on the card is not touchin the rite connector.........and then u should be able to install it
How do I find out what my p.c.'s video card is?
I am thinking about buying a game called battlefield 2, but I want to make sure my computer can actually play it. It is usually just the video card that doesn't allow me to play, everything else is fine. Where can I find out what my video card is?
Here is also the other requirements for the game http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?…|||Right-click on MY COMPUTER, select PROPERTIES, HARDWARE tab, DEVICE MANAGER, double-click on DISPLAY ADAPTERS. It should list the card you have.|||Go to start>control panel>system icon>hardware tab>device manager>display adaptor|||you can find out what your video card's specs are in your PC's documentation. you also may want to look in your system properties folder, it may be listed by name under the video card heading.
if you don't know for sure, it's not bad because video cards are relatively inexpensive these days. a geforce 8600 card could be found at your local best buy for less than $100 US. a radeon may be a little more. but check ebay if your funds are limited. good luck.|||Just right click on your backround and click properties.
You should have at least a Nvidia 6600gt, or a ATI X1600 if you want decent gameplay in BF2, I know because I play it.
It will work with a card as old as the Nvidia FX5200, but barely.|||Just Click on Start- Run- type dxdiag and click ok , click on all the tabs on top one by one u will get all the information you want u can compare it with the link u have send

ASUS a7a266 Motherboard will not boot into bios or no video from graphics card?

Good Luck getting it up and running.|||Greeting Buddy !
Here is your answer to your question
It depends on what type of video card you have
Eg:- PCI express or AGP.
Also depends on you motherboard. You'll need a motherboard with PCI express or AGP slots respectively for installing the card.
After you physically inserted your GFX card into the motherboard, connect the monitors display cable to the graphics card.
After that boot into the windows -> Install the drivers ( latest )
All done

Question about video card and power supply?
Dear Yahoo, i just bought a 550watts power supply and i was thinkin about buyin a ASUS EN9800GT ULTIMATE HDTP 512M GEFORCE 9800 GT 512MB 256BIT GDDR3 video card and i was wondering can my power supply handle this video card i would like to know.....THANK YOU YOUR AMY|||Depends. What brand and model is the PSU? What other items do you have in your computer?
Typically people go way overboard with respect to PSUs. Most dual video card systems do not require more than a reliable 500W PSU. If you want to go quad Video most 650W PSUs that are name brand work just fine.
Tom's hardware just released some interesting data in this regard, showing which video card combination required what size PSU for stable operation.|||Thats not a crazy high end video card. If the power supply has a 6pin connector for it i think you should be ok as long as your not running like 10 fans and 6 hard drives.
Remember it requires a 6Pin Connector specifically made for video cards lets hope your PSU has 1|||I'm highly doubting that your PSU can handle that card. Not 100% certain though.

Does changing the video card in a Dell Latitude C640 laptop require you to remove all components?
I have recently purchased a Dell Latitude C640 Laptop, however it only came with a 16mb ATI Mobility Radeon video card. I have found a 32mb video card on eBay, but my friend told me that in order to change them, you have to take everything apart and it's not worth it. Here is the link to the video card. http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?View…
Also, I am upgrading to 32mb from 16mb, is this even worth it? Thanks alot!|||I would bet you would have to take it apart and put it back together again.|||You would have to at least take it down to the system board, which is not that hard less then 15 mins. I do not believe you have to take the system board out, but might be better to work with if out.
I take these apart all the time no problems at all just be carefull and take your time.
as for upgrading I would only do it if you hav games that will not run unless you upgrade.

Whats a good cheap video card to buy?
I wanna play games on my pc wit out them lookin so messed up and slow. So I bought my own PC 2 hook it up from the ground up. But when i went to play battlefield 2 on it. It worked but it was slow and looked very bad. So whats a good, cheap video card out there. I need a good one cause i do a lot of gaming|||all depends on what type of video card you can use.
there are AGP, PCI, and PCI-Express slots for video cards.
You need to figure out what type you can use first.
Also how much RAM is installed on your PC?
If you want to play games then i suggest at least 1gig of ram.

just make sure you get one that works with your PC.|||the ATI radeon x800
only $62|||Either an ATI RADEON or NVIDIA GEFORCE
I use the NVIDIA GEFORCE MX200 and with the NVIDIA if you buy a pair of 3-D shutter glasses it has a hookup built into the card and a driver on their website.|||The ATI Radeon X800xl has served me really well. It is now under $100 for the AGP version. The AGP standard is going to be phased out shortly so be careful what you buy... How much onboard video memory does NVIDIA GeForce 9700M GTS video card have?
I'm trying to see if i can play crysis, and www.yougamers.com says that i only have 64mb of onboard video memory when i need 256mb, am i not using the max i can use? or do i actually only have 64mb? (i don't know if this is important, but i have a Toshiba Qosmio x300)|||hi steve
with some laptops steve you may be able to assign more video memory to your graphics adapter(9700M) and the options to do this are normally located within the bios>advanced chipset features...allthough all bios programs are different however theres normally some option to disable/enabled the video and also increase or decrease the amount of memory allocated to the onboard video adapter
that said i have checked the specifications for the Toshiba Qosmio x300 and it states the graphics use "turbocache" technology which basically means the graphic card or adapter can use some of the system memory(ram) to use with any program or game that needs it,and in the your case thats 512 MB dedicated VRAM (up to 1,791 MB total available graphics memory using TurboCache™ technology with 3 GB system memory)
so in a nutshell steve allthough you have more than enough video memory it may be that yougamers are only recognizing the minimum amount of video memory for your laptop,so my advice is ignore any websites and simply run the game
as soon as you run crysis your geforce 9700M will realise it requires additional video memory and will borrow the memory using "turbocache" and when you have finished running the game the borrowed memory will be relocated to the system ram
ati also do a similar technology called "hypermemory" which works in exactly the same way with their radeon modile range
i hope this has helped, any problems let me know
good luck steve

Will my PSU be able to handle this video card?
I have the Hp pavilion p6644y, and it has a 250W power supply. I want to put in the Radeon HD 5570.
I know it recommends a 400W supply, but i was wondering if it REQUIRES that, and it will burn something out unless i have a better PSU. Has anyone even installed this card on a 250W psu?|||I've been using a 5570 on my computer at work for about a year now, it only has a 240 watt PSU, and I've had no problems. The TDP of the 5570 is only 39 watts. They really overstated the required PSU with this card.|||It won't damage the hardware even if you have a 700w power supply. It uses as much as it needs.

There are a good half-dozen questions you must ask yourself before even thinking of purchasing the $700 HD 5970.|||If your playin at 1080p get a 5850 or 5870 save your money for 6xxx series cards.

How do i install a video card?
i got a video card for my computer and idk how to instal it i have a windows vista thats a dell and i i dnt kno wat to do plz help|||below there is given a website address where u can have detailed steps on installing your video card.|||Return the video card.|||install the video card on the computer you will get new hardware found baloon and then after installing it will ask for the drivers then put the cd in the cd drive and do the installation from there follow the steps it says on the screen.|||Before you try to install the card, are you absolutely sure that your power supply meets or exceeds the graphics cards power requirements? Your power supply must have enough current (amps) on the +12 volt rail to support the card and your system. Some graphics cards also require an additional 6 pin pci-e power connector from the power supply that plugs into the card. Read the power requirements for the card, then check your power supply, to determine whether or not a power supply upgrade is needed in order to use the card. Using a graphics card with a power supply that doesn't provide enough power will cause your system to crash.

Whats the best AGP video card?
I currently have an older pc - P4 2.4 ghz box with an ATI 9700 pro All In Wonder in it and want to upgrade the video card so i get better frame rates while playing Warhammer Online. The Best AGP I could find for the money is Sapphire HD 3850. Will this help or am I wasting my time? Should I upgrade to a motherboard that supports PCI-E instead?|||you should definitely upgrade your motherboard. It might be a little costly but buying another agp card would only be delaying the inevitable.
Great Deal:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/…|||The 3870 is a better card than the 3850, but as you indicated, it is more expensive... ATi has maintained AGP standards for (almost) all their cards up to one of the 4x cards I believe. However, the demise of the AGP slot for video/audio is fast approaching. Personally, I don't see them lasting into 2010. If you want to upgrade you can find an AMD 3.2 dual, ASUS mobo and HD3870 for probably about $400-$500 retail...just remember to take into consideration the size of your case before you buy a new mobo!
In any case, the Sapphire card will more than handle Warhammer!

Is a V266b mobo w/ AGP4x slot support an AGP8x video card?
im currently using a jetway v266b motherboard that has an agp4x slot. can an agp8x video card work in my motherboard, eg. a Geforce FX 5200 or 5500, without any errors/issues?|||YUP, AGP is backward compatible meaning you can use a 4x card in a 8x slot and an 8x card in a 4x slot, but using an 8x speed card in a 4x speed slot will only let the card operate at 4x and using a 4x card in an 8x slot will not speed up the card|||most likely that motherboard does by now. If you check Jetways website and see if they have a bios update, most likely if there is an update there is support for x8... Sounds like it is time for a new CPU/MB. You would be so happy if you did...

my nvidia 6200 video card when installed is blurry and makes the monitor not work it is a agp can anyone help me|||Blurry picture you say? A video card either works or it doesn't.. blurry isn't an option. If anything has a problem it's your monitor. Try a different monitor to see if that's the problem. Have you by any chance recently put a fan near your monitor? They are not shielded and they interfere with CRT monitors quite substantially.

i just want a video card that can play any of the games out right now and future games. and i dont care if the grapgics are the BEST, just as long as i can play the game at HIgh or something.
any help would be appreciated, thanks|||The best graphics cards that fit ur budget right now are both the ati 4870 and the gtx 260. Both these card are great cards for the money with a slight edge to the 4870 for delivering both video and audio through the DVI to HDMI adapter. But if ur aren't into video playback both cards are fair game.
However with ATI's new line of GPUs coming u may want to hold, because with the launch of the GPUs both ATI and Nvidia cards will inevitably lower in price, and u possibly by a higher end card.|||At this point, you should just hold out until the end of September as ATI's new Radeon 5xxx series will be released. These cards are touted as being 1.6x faster than current gen ATI cards (this means they will be substantially faster than Nvidia's current gen as well).
It makes no sense at all to buy an older GPU with new parts right around the corner. At the very least you should wait until they are released even if you want an older GPU because Nvidia will have to adjust their current gen prices to remain competitive. I'm sure ATI will cut prices on their 4xxx series as well.

Is this video card enough for crysis on ultra?
Geforce GT330 2GB
The computer guy said hes never sold a 2gb video card and he reckons its best to just go with a 1gb one. I dont know if that means its a different video card or not?|||Mkay. You're not going to be able to play Crysis on Ultra settings. Cards exist that are two-three times as powerful that struggle on Ultra; however you should be able to play the game on medium settings.
You really don't need a 2GB card, because the card is not powerful enough to benefit from the mass amount of video RAM; 1GB is perfectly fine. Lastly, it is better than the NVidia GeForce 9500GT. Approximately twice as good.
Honestly, your best bet is to look at other cards such as:
-NVidia GeForce GT230 (Quite literally identical, the 330 has just been re-branded to make it sound newer)
-NVidia GeForce 9600GT

my old v card is dam .nvidia is good for many pc games and i wana card for watching videos and playing games.is 8400 is good ?do u know any other card good for me?where i can compare them or get discount ?|||Yes, I think the 8400 gs is an excellent choice for system.Heres a link to all the 8400 gs graphics card from all the manufacturers. These are the best prices available on this site:|||The nVidia 8400 GS is a 128 mb dedicated graphics card. Im pretty sure it has DX10 support, and other stuff. its a good graphics cards, but it depends on what games.I doubt it would run Crysis or FEAR or Bioshock very well. It also requires a PCIE x16 slot.. do you have one on your motherboard? Also, if you have a bit more money, you might want to think about upgrading to the nVidia 8600 GS card. its a 256 mb card, and would run games alot smoother.
a 128mb card is good though,, if you want to run most games made before 2007, or during 07. i can run Halo PC and World of Warcraft at max settings at 1280x1024 settings with a nVidia 6600 GS with 128mb. it runs them smoothly, at between 30-80 fps.
By the way, the 8800 GT isnt the best for gaming. Especially with the 9xxx series out.. the 9800 Ultra (to be released) would probablyh be the best gaming card, if your willing to spend $600, plus the money for a new PSU, if yours isnt big enough. the 9800 is also SLI capable, so you can get more than one.
Also, if your doing graphic design, then get a nVidia Quadro FX card. the best i think is the nVidia Quadro FX 5500 1.5gb. a 128mb card is good though,, if you want to run most games made before 2007, or during 07. i can run Halo PC and World of Warcraft at max settings at 1280x1024 settings with a nVidia 6600 GS with 128mb. it runs them smoothly, at between 30-80 fps.
If I went from a 512MB video card to a 1 GB card would I see a signigicant difference?
In other words, is it worth $35 bucks (with rebate) to upgrade my video card if I don't do games?|||No you wouldn't see much difference at all unless you DID play video games, or you used video intensive applications or did heavy video rendering.|||totally depends on other factors. the amount of memory the graphics card has does not necessarily determine how good it will be compared to other graphics cards. There are other factors. Without knowing the specific models, theres no way to say what would be better or if it would be worth it.|||There's no way for us to know without knowing what two video cards we're talking about. The memory size of a graphics card is an implementation detail. It doesn't directly correlate with performance. You might as well ask "If I go from a car with an 18 valve engine to a car with a 24 valve engine ..."|||That depends, 512 for absolutely no games is more than enough there's a lot out there with 256. If you're not tight on money much tho I would spend that 35$ on the upgrade. It also depends on which vcard you're going after. Some 512MB vcard could outperform 1gb ones.

I need help upgrading my video card. Suggestions?
Hello, Im currently trying to upgrade a computer that my friend no longer wants, its a nice computer, it just needs a new video card and a complete swipe of the hard drive. I don't know where to look or what to get as far as video cards are concerned. Im looking in the range of about $100-$250. I know that the old video card ( he took it out and connected it to his other one for he new computer ) was from NVIDIA.|||You should have an idea of computers and parts before doing anything. If you have a relatively new PC running a Phenom II X4 or i5/i7 processor you shouldn't have to worry about bottlenecks, where the CPU cannot keep up with the video card. The next question is can your power supply handle a newer, more powerful video card? As for actual suggestions, if you are spending $250 go ahead and buy an HD6950 from ATI or a GTX560Ti from Nvidia. Both are extremely comparable and you couldn't go wrong with either card. If you decide you don't want to spend that much try looking at an HD6870 from ATI. Nvidia cards in that range take a lot of power and don't exactly keep up with ATI's price per performance.|||GPU buyers guide

Which Laptop Video & Graphics Card Do I Want?
I am looking at a Toshiba and a Comqaq laptop. both are the same price. One has a Mobil Intel Graphic Accelerator 4500. It says it has 128 to 1342 shared video memory.
The other has a NVIDIA Geforce 8200 with 828 video memory.
So which one is better? I like to play a few games on my computer. Nothing like some of the new games that need the top of the line Video card to work. I also download some videos on occasion. So can someone tell me the difference between these two? Thanks|||I would go with the GeForce 8200. I think it's generally a better card. They are both integrated so they are both crap for top of the line games, but they are fine for games like Counter Strike Source, Call of Duty 4, etc. They will both also play HD video just fine, but I think the GeForce 8200 will be better at doing these things.
Also, make sure you buy lots of RAM, that video memory you see there will be taken from your regular RAM. That means if you have 2GB (let's say 2000MB) then you will be left with 1172MB (2000 - 828).|||It looks like you guys are looking for gaming laptops.

I just bought a Samsung 206BW LCD monitor. What is the best PCI video card to support it?

One PCI slot open on motherboard.|||You already have an integrated video card built in, so you don't need a PCI card. Help on a video graphics card for a Dell Inspiron 1525.....?
What would be a good Video Graphics Card that would work on a Dell Inspiron 1525?|||Sorry, but you're out of luck. Unless you've ordered the laptop with the card you wanted, you can't swap it out.
Unlike Desktop graphics cards, which are limited only by available slots, Laptop graphics cards are hard to find, and even harder to replace.
Laptop GPUs are not cards at all, but GPU chips soldered into the motherboard, so as are some of the CPUs - meaning you have to melt the metal solder to take them out. This is the way most laptops today are made. You'll have to be a real expert to be able to swap them successfully - even then success isn't 100%. Manufacturers will not take them back for an upgrade. Furthermore, your laptop motherboard chipset will not allow for you to upgrade to a discrete GPU if you ordered it with the integrated card.
Unless you have a laptop with a separate graphics unit or an MXM slot, you won't be able to upgrade/replace it. Check your manual to see if they allow any upgrades
-----------
The only option you have left is to use an Expresscard-adpated graphics unit, but not yet. Maybe in the near future; right now external graphics through Expresscard is in the process of development/release.
There aren't that many for sale yet, but if you're lucky, you can find an ASUS XG Station for sale somewhere (but it won't be cheap considering its around $300 for the dock alone). You just need to have an Expresscard slot.|||well, what u mean by a "good grapihc card"?
there is no way you can get a good graphic w the dell inspirion!
get the xps ~_~
ur video card must be at least 8600gt in order to be ranked as a "good card"
however, the recommend for the good gaming machine is 9800gt.

Should I buy a new video card/ram or just a new PC?
Hi, I recently noticed that my computer is hella slow when running multiple applications and lags a bit in some games even in the lowest quality, so I'm just wondering, should I buy a new PC or just buy a new graphic card/ram? Here's my specs:
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227-2254)
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: VIA Technologies, Inc.
System Model: PM800-8237
BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz
Memory: 448MB RAM

DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
DX Setup Parameters: Not found
DxDiag Version: 5.03.2600.2180 32bit Unicode
I have to let you all know that I'd rather not use so much money on a new PC, I just want to know your suggestions. And also, would my computer handle RAM/VIDEO CARDS? If I bought a new computer I would have to buy one that is 800 or less.. Thanks!|||i own a computer repair company and in my opinion
if u are willing to spend 800 dollars i would upgrade that pc
the one thing u did not specify is wether or not u are running nvidia or ati
so i will answer for both options
if ur using nvidia already on ur motherboard u should get this graphics card for 450 dollars,

I just downloade windows 7 rc and now my onboard video card is not recognized.?
after the install it does not let me see any properties about my video adapter. It is an onboard video card intel xtreme on an HP dc5000 desk top.
Any help would be appreciated|||go to HP's site and download their Vista driver for it. what for do you need ram on a video card ?|||you need it in order to store texture maps in. It means when you have 3D models and they have to have textures, the system stores the information of the texture there so that the video card can display them fastly|||RAM is for holding data whilst it gets processed.

And if I did get that mother board would i have to add anything to it if I got it from that website, you know like the chip thingy?|||Yes they would be compatible. The video card you're getting can run on either a PCI 2.0 or PCI x16 slot, your motherboard has a PCI x16 slot so they should be good. You would be better off with getting a motherboard that has a PCI 2.0 slot so you can get the most out of your video card.
And yes, you would need to get a processor for the motherboard. The socket is LGA 775, which would work out for some duo or quad core processors. My personal recommendation for a processor is an Intel Q8200 Quad-core, it's quick and it's a beut.
Hope this helped!|||The video card you are about to purchase has a PCI-E 2.0 Interface. The motherboard does not. Consider buying a diffrent motherboard that has a 2.0 interface. You can find it a tiger direct also.|||This video card will work but as the motherboard only supports PCI-E 1.0 and the video is 2.0 you won't get the full benefits of the card.

I want to buy a new video card?
If i buy a new video card, preferrably a nvidia geforce 8800gt. I ahve to buy a better power supply. my current video card is a ati xpress 200 series. I know my power supply HAS to be a good one to support the card, but is that the only thing i have to update/buy a new one in order to run call of duty 4 or those new games smoothly, or do i have to buy a new processor and those stuff too?|||Depending on your motherboard, you may have to upgrade that as well. If you upgrade the motherboard you may have to upgrade the processor and the ram. You also may need to upgrade the cooling in your case because of the extra heat the video card will generate. In the end you might need to upgrade pretty much the entire system.|||i dont know what processor you currently have.
these are the minimum specs for Call of duty 4, as posted on the official website:
# CPU: 2.4 GHz dual core or better is recommended
# RAM: 1GB for XP; 2GB for Vista is recommended
# Harddrive: 8GB of free hard drive space
# Video card: 3.0 Shader Support recommended. Nvidia Geforce 7800 or better or ATI Radeon X1800 or better|||you should specify your system specs.
to run new gen games like COD4 smoothly, you need a dual core processor, atleast 2ghz. atleast 2GB RAM and a good GPU like the 8800GT. if you have the extra buck, try using a board with an FSB of 1066 and above so that it can maximize the power of your CPU and GPU.

ok i have a cq200f and i want to know what good gxforce or navidia video cards will work on it and it would be great if yall tell me which ones will work thanks for all the help :D|||Absolutely none. That computer was built for people to use at home to browse the internet and check e-mail, not play games.|||That computer has a intergrated video card so therefore you cant replace since its intergrated with the Motherboard, So what you can do is Buy a card for the PCI slot but these can be expensive even for a little performance boost, open up the computer and find the PCI slot. Which Video Card Is Better For A Gaming Computer?
I am building a gaming computer and I have two options for a video card. I Which of these two cards is better:
ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB
or
nVidia GeForce GTS 240 1024MB
Which will deliver a better and clearer gaming experience?|||The Radeon 4850 is the better gaming card (and usually costs less too)
The GTS 240 is a rebranded 9800GT, which is a good card. But the Radeon 4850 performs about dead-even with the GTS 250/9800GTX+ which is a step above the 9800GT.
ATI's pricing is very aggressive- their cards are priced about $30 less than Nvidia cards of equal performance, pitting them against less powerful models- so the Radeon 4850 is priced to match the GeForce 9800GT instead of a GTS 250 which is it's real competition, the Radeon 4870 sells for about the price of a GTS 250 instead the GTX 260 (which is it's performance counterpart) etc.
http://www.legitreviews.com/article/731/…
The 512mb vs 1gb of video memory isn't significant- the extra memory only comes into play when gaming at very high resolutions (above 1920x1080). So unless you've got a 30" monitor or something like that, a 512mb card is fine. In any event, 1gb versions of the 4850 are plentiful.

I have a 9800gt, a few friend have the 4850, and i can testify that the 4850 is faster.
512MB / 1GB means little (aka nothing) at this performance point.
Don't take anyones word for it though, read reviews, use google aswell.

Should I buy a better Video Card?
Currently I have a Nvidia Geforce 6150 Video Card. For you all that know steam and the games such as Team Fortress 2 and Counter Strike source, I have lagging problems in the games. Should I buy a better Video Card? Will it fix my problem? Is my Video Card and old version? What do you recommend for me to buy? My RAM and processor and hard drive space etc. is all fine. It's just that I'm unsure of my Video Card.|||yeah its your video card, as for which one its hard to say without knowing if you have a PCI-E slot or if your using an AGP still plus your price range. for those games a series 8 or better nvidia card will fix the problem|||I played CS:S on a 6100 (the next step down) with no lag problems at all, but everything else in my PC was bleeding high end. It depends on what is causing your lag. The first thing I recommend is updating your drives to the newest version. Sometimes this fixes little bugs that cause stuttering and lag while rendering in 3D.
RAM may also be an issue. If your RAM is filling up, the PC has to write cache to the hard drive, which is WAY slower and will also cause stuttering and lag.
Processor speed is probably the biggest issue for you. The 6150 is integrated into the motherboard which means that your processor and RAM do all of the work for it (rather than the video card doing it.) You could free up the processor speed AND the RAM buy getting a better video card which will be the biggest help.
Your internet connection could be the other source of lag. This would suck because you can't really do much about it except change ISP. If that is the cause then no amount of hardware will help.
If you feel that your internet connection is not the problem, I definitely recommend a video card upgrade. Freeing up the RAM and CPU cycles will be an immense improvement. Even a low end video card will make your PC run faster and smoother in every way.
Good luck and happy fragging!!

Can I run 3 monitors on my Dell XPS 8300 without adding another video card?
My xps has one 1GB amd radeon 6450 graphics card, is this enough to run 3 monitors?
Thanks|||Hi5 on the same PC system :)|||most computers have a built in feature that allows you to run 3 monitors without haveing to install another video card, the dell xps 8300 DOES come with feature but it does reduce the graphic out put on both monitors makeing the imagie very pixellated and distort, so i would advise installing a new video card, but if you are only useing the 3rd monitor to display websites or your genarly desktop then i think it maybe ok but if will not be able to handle sites like youtube or any site that displays alot of video card usage. i hoped this helped!|||if it supports 'eyefinity' you'd have to check what specific model you have, because sometimes they have two of the same card, one supports it and one doesn't.

Power supply/video card questions with my Dell XPS Gen 5?
I currently have a ATI 256mb X850 platinum video card. I have 4gb of DDR SDRAM, dual pentium 830 (3.0GHz) (this is better than a pentium 4 right?). Anyways, my ATI card conflicts with a few things so I need to replace it with a Nvidia card. I'm trying to figure out a few things and need some help.
I haven't been able to find out my pc's power supply. I've spoken to 3 different dell reps and they don't know. I looked inside the pc and everywhere else and I just can't find any stickers or anything. Is there any software that can find this out for me?
Also, my gen 5 can only have 460 or 650 power supply. So, if I have a 460 could I just replace it with the 650? I didn't see any way to get into the power supply. Anyone know where I can buy this power supply?
Also, I have a three 5 pin connector PCI fan that seems to be on the fritz. It's held in place by some Dell plastic piece. Would I need to buy the exact same one or do I have any choices?|||Dell uses proprietary hardware.
Hence you probably can't just buy any PSU and connect it to your XPS. I'll bet the pin layout is even different.
Your option is to upgrade to Dell's 650 Watt PSU.
For the fans , as long as you get the right size you can probably replace those easily.

Is a PCI express 2.0 video card backward compatible with a PCI express x16 motherboard?
Will an 8800 gts pci express 2.0 card word on my m2n-sli deluxe asus motherboard? Says it supports pci express x 16 so is 2.o backwards compatible?|||All of the new graphics cards that support PCIe 2.0 are backward compatible with motherboards that support only PCIe 1.1. BOTH Pcie 2.0 and 1.1 standards USE the x16 PCIe slot.
Actually the new cards would hardly be slowed down by the PCIe 1.1 slot. PCIe 2.0 has a VERY WIDE bandwidth that could hardly be utilized by most single cards. It is the dual or quad GPU set up that would benefit most from PCIe 2.0.|||In short Yes, but at half the bandwidth of 2.0.|||Yes it is backwards compatible. What size video card will I need?
What size video card will I need to power 2 28" screens with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 each? I intend to use them for business (website viewing, some flash content, MS Office...etc.) and Not FPS gaming. I don't want to spend more than I need to. No, you will need something descent for sure. Integrated graphics shall not work with this, no no no. Now, TBH, im an avid gamer and I build my own computers, and although you will not be doing any gaming, some gaming cards out there are cheaper than the business graphics cards and will perform great. Heres a one that could work out fine as heeeeeeellll for you.
A single 9800 gt should be fantastic for work on dual monitors.

Should I buy a Video Card?
Hi,
I have a desktop brand Dell. It kinda old and it is an Xp desktop and don't have a video card. I don't have it specification as it old. I would really want to play games on it,should I buy a video card?|||First you have to figure out if you have a slot for a video card.
A low-end dell would just have graphics built into the motherboard.
If you have a PCI-E (or AGP - if it is really old) you have a few options - but you would probably be better off building one from the ground up due to the limitations of the old machine.
Check on newegg.com and tigerdirect.com for inexpensive 'bare bones' systems that come with case, motherboard, power supply - many toss in memory or other things to get you started.
Look up the specifications for the games you are considering playing, and it will help you get an idea of what you will need to run them.|||Which exact model Dell? Dimension 4700, Vostro 200 etc? It's usually printed on the case.

Can't use any newer cards because they would be held back by your system and you would have to play at the lowest settings possible which probably would be equal to playing on a Xbox 360|||Without even trying to look up the specs, you're on your own. My RAM being stolen by my Video Card?
My video Card has stolen 66MB of my RAM,
Can i get it back?
if i can how?|||This is the result of purchasing a computer with an integrated video card. The manufacturer saves money by using the computer's RAM instead of dedicated ram on the display adapter.

Video card upgrade and how too?
Hello,
I am using an ASUS M4A77D motherboard right now, and I'm using a really old video card. I am on a budget, so I was looking and the ATI Radeon HD5770 looked good for its price. My motherboard has a PCLe2.0x16 slot. Also, could you run me though the steps of upgrading? I'm not too tech savvy.|||Well first, can you give us your specs, such as:
1. Processor
2. RAM
3. PSU + Model Number
For the last one, you're going to have to check my opening up your PC. While you open it up, also take a ruler or something and measure the amount of space you have for your graphics card. Find the longest PCIEx16 slot and measure from the backplate (case) through the slot until you meet the dead end. This'll make sure your new GPU will actually fit.
I won't provide you the steps of upgrading until I have the above information is given (no offence of anything, I don't wont to type a whole tutorial for no one to use). :)

I have a choice between a 7300 and and 8500 Video Card which should i get?
Ok, for the same price i can get a 512 MB Nvidia GeForce 7300GS PCI-e Video Card..... Or i Could get a 256 MB Nvidia GeForce 8500GT PCI-e Video Card.. which should i get??|||8500 gt|||id say the 8500gt... purely because its a better card, more pipelines, higher core frequency, etc, just cause the other one has more ram dodoesn'tean its better, also, the suffix help u decipher if its a good card or not... ie, gt is better than gs
if u look on google im sure theres a site that will tell u the different types and which suffix is better, from low powered ones to overpowered / overclocked

More than likely have an intel integrated card. model Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100|||Laptops have integrated video cards which means it's a chip on the motherboard. You can find out the type of video card (Chip) in Device Manager under Display

Video Card needs more Resources Windows 7?
My video card Nvidia GeForce 6200 needs more resource and will not work properly...? I am currently running a fresh copy of Windows 7. And now I know the drivers are installed for the Nvidia GeForce 6200 but it will not run correctly because of resources...? Never happened with XP SP2... Help deeply appreciated Thanks!|||Some other people were having problems with the GeForce 6200 as well. Here's a link to the forum where one person had a rather complicated solution that seemed to work.

Honestly though, why don't you just upgrade your video card? Upgrading a video card as archaic as the GeForce 6200 is a matter of maybe $45 for a dramatic upgrade with the ATi Radeon HD 4350 coming to mind.|||Did you update to the most recent version of drivers? How much video memory do you have on the video card itself, and how much RAM do you have. I would probably suggest you get a newer video card to run Windows 7, since the 6200 series does not have the performance that Windows 7 Home Premium needs. A 6200 runs at 400 MHz core clock, so you might need to go for a newer video card that has at least a 500 MHz or 600 MHz core clock. It also depends on what processor you have.

If an integrated video card were to be sold as a standalone video card, how much would it cost?
I'm talking about integrated chips on a modern mid-level or high-end motherboard . If that graphics chip was required to be bought by itself, how much would it cost?
I'm just trying to get an idea of how much better regular graphics card are compared to integrated graphics.|||Intel prices it's integrated chips at: (drum roll) Four dollars.
If you're an OEM, it will cost you $4 more to get a G965 over a P965.
Now, putting a GPU and some ram on an add-in board costs some money, but that's the price of the chipset itself. If they were to put it on a PCB, it would likely cost about as much as the cheapest standalone graphics cards do (GF 6200, 7100 GS, Radeon X300), so a little less than $40.
To get an idea of the performance, search for reviews and benchmarks. But suffice it to say that integrated graphics are by and large unsuitable for gaming.
http://www.anandtech.com/showdoc.aspx?i=…|||There is no such thing as a "integrated video card" .
Integrated means the VGA chipsets are part of the motherboard.
You can buy a 128mb VGA card for less then $50|||about 50 bucks ... u need to spend about 150 to get a medium performance card and about 300 to get a close to hi-end card ..

DDR2 video card in a DDR motheboard is it compatible?
i got a VIA P4M266A -8235 motherboard with a AGP 4x slot...
it has a RAM of DDR PC266/2100..
can i use a video card with a DDR2 memory?
is it compatible?
thanks....|||Yes, they are compatible. The type of memory your motherboard supports (DDR) has no bearing on which video cards you can use. However, it's recommended to always get the DDR3 versions of video cards if possible, they are much faster than their DDR2 counterparts.
Of course with an older AGP 4x slot, DDR2 might be the best you can get...|||a DDR motherboard only allows DDR RAM onto it but it wont effect the videocard |||The DDR memory that your motherboard takes is physical memory. The memory in the graphics card is virtual memory, and is not connected with the physical memory. Yes, they are compatible.
