If I went from a 512MB video card to a 1 GB card would I see a signigicant difference?

In other words, is it worth $35 bucks (with rebate) to upgrade my video card if I don't do games?|||No you wouldn't see much difference at all unless you DID play video games, or you used video intensive applications or did heavy video rendering.|||totally depends on other factors. the amount of memory the graphics card has does not necessarily determine how good it will be compared to other graphics cards. There are other factors. Without knowing the specific models, theres no way to say what would be better or if it would be worth it.|||There's no way for us to know without knowing what two video cards we're talking about. The memory size of a graphics card is an implementation detail. It doesn't directly correlate with performance. You might as well ask "If I go from a car with an 18 valve engine to a car with a 24 valve engine ..."|||That depends, 512 for absolutely no games is more than enough there's a lot out there with 256. If you're not tight on money much tho I would spend that 35$ on the upgrade. It also depends on which vcard you're going after. Some 512MB vcard could outperform 1gb ones.
