How do I install a nvidia pci fx5500 video card on a Dell w/ Vista Basic w/ integrated nvidia 6150 graphics?
i've installed video cards before, but this is making me crazy. After uninstalling the integrated 6150 drivers, installing the fx5500, and installing the latest drivers from nvidia.com, the pc recognizes the card, BUT, it doesnt have the updated control panel so I dont have the extra features like nvidia desktop control or brightness, color, monitor optimization, etc. etc. It still has the crappy no frills integrated nvidia control panel with no features. How can I install it correctly and get the latest control panel and nvidia desktop??|||You should disable the integrated graphics from the BIOS, which you can do by pressing F2 or maybe delete repeatedly when you start your computer. There should be an option to disable onboard VGA. Then try using your new card.
