I wana buy new video card is nvidia 8400 gs is good choice ?

my old v card is dam .nvidia is good for many pc games and i wana card for watching videos and playing games.is 8400 is good ?do u know any other card good for me?where i can compare them or get discount ?|||Yes, I think the 8400 gs is an excellent choice for system.Heres a link to all the 8400 gs graphics card from all the manufacturers. These are the best prices available on this site:|||The nVidia 8400 GS is a 128 mb dedicated graphics card. Im pretty sure it has DX10 support, and other stuff. its a good graphics cards, but it depends on what games.I doubt it would run Crysis or FEAR or Bioshock very well. It also requires a PCIE x16 slot.. do you have one on your motherboard? Also, if you have a bit more money, you might want to think about upgrading to the nVidia 8600 GS card. its a 256 mb card, and would run games alot smoother.

a 128mb card is good though,, if you want to run most games made before 2007, or during 07. i can run Halo PC and World of Warcraft at max settings at 1280x1024 settings with a nVidia 6600 GS with 128mb. it runs them smoothly, at between 30-80 fps.

By the way, the 8800 GT isnt the best for gaming. Especially with the 9xxx series out.. the 9800 Ultra (to be released) would probablyh be the best gaming card, if your willing to spend $600, plus the money for a new PSU, if yours isnt big enough. the 9800 is also SLI capable, so you can get more than one.

Also, if your doing graphic design, then get a nVidia Quadro FX card. the best i think is the nVidia Quadro FX 5500 1.5gb. It costs like.. $2700-3800 though.|||Think of 8400 as lower end DX10 card and 8600 as middle of the road DX10 card. If you are a hardcore gamer then go for 8600GT because almost all the new games including Bioshock, Assasin's Creed, crysis etc are working perfectly on it. If you are more of a casual gamer 8400 would be a more economical option for you.|||you wont be happy w/the performance of the 8400gs, or the 8500gt.......there the worst vid cards nvidia has made to date.......there good for movies and videos but really no good at all in the gaming department........your better off w/at least a 8600gts sc, or if ya have some xtra cash pick up a 8800gt, go to this site to check out the 8600gts sc and the n8800gt....
