Question about video card and power supply?

Dear Yahoo, i just bought a 550watts power supply and i was thinkin about buyin a ASUS EN9800GT ULTIMATE HDTP 512M GEFORCE 9800 GT 512MB 256BIT GDDR3 video card and i was wondering can my power supply handle this video card i would like to know.....THANK YOU YOUR AMY|||Depends. What brand and model is the PSU? What other items do you have in your computer?

Typically people go way overboard with respect to PSUs. Most dual video card systems do not require more than a reliable 500W PSU. If you want to go quad Video most 650W PSUs that are name brand work just fine.

Tom's hardware just released some interesting data in this regard, showing which video card combination required what size PSU for stable operation.|||Thats not a crazy high end video card. If the power supply has a 6pin connector for it i think you should be ok as long as your not running like 10 fans and 6 hard drives.

Remember it requires a 6Pin Connector specifically made for video cards lets hope your PSU has 1|||I'm highly doubting that your PSU can handle that card. Not 100% certain though.
