Sony computer not using new video card?

my sony vaio is not using my new geforce video card and will not let me change the resolution. But my games play fine, yet windows is stuck at the lowest resolution. Any ideas out there?|||you need to install the drivers for the card...go to the manufacturer's website (of the video card that is) and go to the support section and d/l the latest drivers for your card and install it.|||Install the drivers, if this does not work, it may be the bios needs to be set to read the new card.
