What is better? A video card with 512MB DDR3 or a video card with 1GB DDR2?|||The 512MB. You don't jsut look at the memory you ahve to look at the core clock etc aswell|||You really can't evaluate cards based on specs like memory type & size. You need to know the card models being compared, that's much more important. A 512mb Radeon HD 5670 is 4X faster than a 1gb Radeon HD 5450. A 512mb GeForce 9800GT is 4X faster than a 1gb (or even 2gb) GeForce 9400GT. It's the card models that matter, not the amount of memory.
However, almost all GDDR2 cards are slower, low-end models... so it's 95% likely that the 512mb GDDR3 card will be better.|||512MB DDR3
