Is there a way to add a video card to a laptop after purchase?

I'm not talking about TV tuner cards. I'm talking about actual video processing cards. I'm planning on getting a 750 dollar acer or 800 dollar gateway, but neither have video cards good enought for windows aero. the acer is a 5102wlmi and the gateway is a MX6447. I have a 900 dollar budget, but the lower the better. thanks in advance.|||two answers

Yes - if the laptop comes with a mxm or a higher power mxm 2 or a mxm 3 super high power slot. These are still quite new and normal only in high end laptops. The high power one can handle more power for a more demanding graphics cards. MXM stands for Mobile PCI eXpress Module.

No - if the laptop is like 99% of laptops.

if you are looking for a nice laptop with a mxm slot try

http://www.mxm-upgrade.com/Table.html

it lists all the laptops with mxm slots and what number (3 is the best)

have fun shopping
